Oh Yes I Did!

My lupus flares keep me from moving so my goal this summer is to start moving more.
I hope the Wii Fit will help.

I started yesterday and was sad to see how little I could do.
I hope to be better and able to do more as the summer goes on.

On the knitting front I finished the Welig gloves by Robin Melanson.

The pattern can be found in Knitting New Mittens & Gloves a great bookby Robin Melanson. This pattern is well written and the cable chart is very easy to follow.

I made them out of Berroco Ultra Alpaca so they are super soft and warm.

I'm up to 11 hand wear projects. Most knitter/crocheters hate doing detail work but I enjoy it. I guess that's why I like making gloves and doing the fingers!
Yes there are more gloves on the way and another lace shawl.

The gloves are gorgeous! I have the book but have yet to knit anything! I think this winter is going to be a "glove"y one for me!

I'm so happy you got this!! I can't wait to see you use this!!!! Yippy! And I love those black gloves you are starting. I wanna make long fingerless ones with that bobble pattern. And the blue ones really are endlessly soft.

Great Gloves! If you enjoy the detail work, make me a pair. I always mess up and make 2 right or left hands. Silly, I know, but it is what I do. And a Wii Fit? You are ambitious to the extreme! LOL Happy Fitting.

Lovely mitts. I will investigate that book. The other projects also look lovely. I'm glad you keep up with activities you like doing. In our greenhouse business we see a lot of people, and because we are a small business, we get to know our repeat customers. It's sad when you hear that someone becomes ill and gives up. God bless you. It's nice you have become one of my followers.

A lot of people in my knitting group use the Wii fit and love it. I am sure you will improve in no time. I sold my Wii to get an iphone.

The gloves are beautiful, I really want to make gloves sometime. I'm a bit intimidated by the fingers and tend to stick with mittens!

The weather has been heck on the joint pain, no?

I have the Wii Fit also and haven't been inspired to play yet. I was doing aqua aerobics (low impact), but then the gym closed the pool to cater to the younger crowd and a juice bar and yoga room was put in, as well as women's free weights, so...here's hoping it warms up and stops raining and we can finally feel better.

First of all, I just wanted to say that the gloves are fabulous, the attention to detail in the workmanship just amazing.

As for fitness, I know how tempting it can be to want to do a lot, especially with a new toy, but I think the start small, build slowly approach is the one that I've found most helpful.

When I was coming out of the worst phase of CFS, it took me a year to build up to a 15 minute walk every day, and then another year to get to 30 minutes.. these were major achievements, and I did it by starting with 1 minute at a time, at my own pace.

That's how we knit and crochet, isn't it.... one stitch at a time... and all these stitches build up to make beautiful things, just like your gloves :)

I Love the cable gloves.
Are they from a book of gloves or where did you get the pattern ? I love knitting gloves as well and would love some new patterns.
can you give me the name /place to find the pattern ?

Whoa, Lupie - you're a crazy glove knitter... I bow down to your glove-knitting prowess :)

Good luck with the Wii - it always takes time in the beginning. I so want a Wii so I can play Wii Tennis. Which is silly because there's a tennis court half a block away from my house. I just realized that I sound really silly for wanting Wii Tennis.
