Not knitting related

We are back from R&R and yes these are shamless pictures of Pat's Philly Cheese Steaks wid cheese fries! All topped wid ths finest cheese whiz .

We can't leave out the diet soda to clear out the arteries.
I got my converse! I've always wanted a pair and in my old age I do what I want without a care. I do look cute in them, if I do say so myself!

Susie Hoodie back on the move

The sleeves are done.

I over came my fear of joining the sleeves and jumped right in.

I have never made a sweater like this and I'm very insecure. It looks right but I'm not sure it is. Time will tell.

The Chalk Dust Knitters have their last Fair Isle class today. I think I'll bring the Susie Hoodie with me and ask Sunday how it is going.

The Chalk Dust Knitters Go Fair Isle

Some of The Chalk Dust Knitters took Fair Isle Classes at stix-n-stitches with Sunday. She was so patient with us, a perfect teacher. Here we are busy at work.

The project we are working on is nordic-headband by Heidi Nyberg

We left the class well on our way in the pattern.

I finished my homework and think it looks great for my first fair isle project.

I love Fair Isle!

Projects from the heart

I find knitters are very giving people.
These are two projects I first saw on DIY's Knitty Gritty and are perfect for charities.

This little cap is very easy and knits up fast.
Here is a link to the pattern Newborn Cap

This Teddy Bear looks difficult but is very simple to make.

It is all one piece from the head to the feet and has very little seaming.

Susie Hoodie is moving along

I'm such a slow knitter that I feel this sweater will take me years to finish.

This is a true color of the sweater.

ChalkDust Knitters Field Trip

We had a great time on our field trip to stix-n-stitches.

Here is Pat, the Tomten maker, adding to her stash.

We are on our way to lunch with bags full and projects in our minds.

I'm knitting my first adult sweater!

After three years of making so many sweaters for babies and children, I feel it's time for a grown up sweater.
I started Mandy Moore's "Susie Hoodie" from More Big Girl Knits By Jillian Moreno & Amy R. Singer.

Photo of Susie Hoodie from Marina's Musings

We'll see how it goes. I'm such a slow knitter it may take me years.
The yarn is Cascade Tweed 220 Walnut Heather.

These stitch markers were made by my older daughter.

I just love tweed!
